HOUSE MOTHER AND FOUNDER OF HOUSE OF ARCH

ArchArt

In House of Arch, voguing offered a path, a community and an identity circle. It explored a professional line of work that allowed one to express their weirdness in the most extravagant way possible. House of Arch seeks daughters who represent the queer community loudly and proudly, as well as have a strong technical background beyond their voguing skills.

ArchArt is a future project aspiration; creating pieces that would fuse contemporary ballet (primarily but not limited to), and contortion with the voguing ballroom scene. It is quite a difficult hunt, but ideally, the archers would have the physical facility/flexibility to train in contortion and illusion-esque imagery. Most importantly, this house aims to build a sharing circle, a spiritual escape and a chosen family.

Individuals from all ages, ethnicities and walks of life are welcome to be seen, heard and ready to strut.

As a first step for anyone interested in this brief:

  • Please send us an email here expressing the following points:

    1. What does voguing mean to you? Or if this is the start of your journey, what drew you into the world of voguing?

    2. Why do you think you belong in House of Arch

    3. Which ball category intrigues you the most and you see yourself in? Why?

For any alternative ways of applying (via audio or video) please contact House of Arch for that to be arranged and make the application process as accessible as possible. Please note this submission is targeted at LGBTQIA+ applicants <3

A message from Chris:

If you feel you meet those requirements to the vision of the House but have not received proper technical and foundational training in voguing, please still do get in touch. This House is starting from scratch and seeks like-minded individuals who can initially collaborate in ball categories that do not demonstrate voguing techniques (Lip Sync, Sex Siren, Fantasy and Realness). The Choreography/Group category will only ever be put on the runway by a group of people who have received proper voguing training. Additionally, those members will be able to work on future ArchArt pieces, which would demonstrate different elements and fusion of styles. Any other questions, clarifications or discussion openers, you can of course contact me privately.
